(SEL-ES) seeks an experienced Senior Protection Engineer who will use their experience in testing, settings, short circuit studies and load flow analysis in this position. If you are looking for an opportunity to travel and solve real world technical problems, train customers on SEL products and become recognized as an industry expert in a fast growing global company, then this opportunity is for you!Essential Duties and Responsibilities Possesses and applies comprehensive knowledge of power system focus area* and related SEL products in order to complete significant assignments.Lead the preparation and presentation of technical proposals for SEL equipment, services and systems.Provide technical leadership to project teams to resolve customer concerns and foster greater customer satisfaction.Plan and conduct assignments, generally involving large and critical projects and operates with considerable plete assigned work within agreed upon schedule and budget while focusing on quality and safety.Oversee the installation, commissioning and operation of automation and/or protection systems, both on-site and from SEL offices.Solve technical issues and malfunctions and identify/analyze any undesirable trends.Assume a project management role on assigned projects.Develop and mentor engineers and technicians.Supervisory duties as assigned.Serve as a subject matter expert for SEL marketing, sales, application engineering and development activities.Continuously identify, measure, and improve processes.Other duties as assigned.Required QualificationsB.S. in Electrical Engineering or related degreeProfessional Engineers License or equivalentTen or more years of experience with electrical power systems or industrial protection system practicesPossesses and applies comprehensive knowledge of protection, integration and/or automation applications for electric power systems and understands more than one focus area.Excellent technical training, speaking and writing skillsExtensive experience with electric power transmission, distribution, and/or generation systemsWilling to travel domestically and internationallyStrong writing, documentation, and speaking skillsAbility to learn new skills and assume new responsibilitiesAbility to work cooperatively in a team environmentBackground check results satisfactory to SELNegative drug test result(s)**Focus areas = Protection Protection = system protection, protective relays and their applications, settings, and testing Preferred QualificationsProfessional Engineer License or equivalent certificationElectrical utility, industrial plant, consulting engineering, or system integrator experienceProject management experienceWorking knowledge of Vision or other project management tracking softwareLocation InformationOur office in Plymouth, Michigan is positioned between Ann Arbor and Detroit.
