Business Planning Manager, PC Games Category The gaming category in the Microsoft Store is a multi-billion-dollar eCommerce business, reaching consumers in over 240 markets across multiple platforms. The PC games category is a fast-growing component of the Microsoft gaming business overall and leverages the terrific heritage and resources of Xbox. We are hiring a Business Planner responsible for the PC Category line of business within Microsoft Store. In this role, you will analyze, forecast, and make strategic recommendations for driving the explosive growth of the Microsoft PC games business across multiple storefronts, business models, and customer segments. This scope ranges across all forms of digital transactional revenue, from casual to hardcore game genres, and collaborates with many different teams across the Microsoft gaming business. You will work with counterparts in Xbox Marketing, Microsoft Studios, and Microsoft Third-Party Publishing, to understand the roadmap of Microsoft gaming products and services and how it intersects with thousands of published and under-development PC games. You will be responsible for rhythm-of-business budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and ad-hoc analysis and modeling, to provide knowledgeable summaries and insights that inform strategic decision making. Responsibilities and focus areas: Provide timely and accurate forecasts and period reporting using PowerBI, Excel, and Powerpoint. Develop an annual business plan to ensure that revenue targets are attainted. Partner with internal BI teams to define requirements and create automated reporting. Perform ad-hoc data modeling, analysis, and strategic framing of potential PC Gaming on Microsoft Store features or strategies using internal and external data resources. Support internal and external PC game publishing partner best practices and evangelism through quantitative analysis and presentation of results. Extract and summarize key business insights on an ongoing basis, including price and promotional discounting. Maintain a prioritized release calendar for upcoming PC games via regular communication with internal portfolio teams. Collaborate with marketing to determine efficacy of programs. Develop and champion effective plans to address market opportunities, communicating across the organization and gaining broad consensus and approval. Be the expert internal voice of PC gaming customers by using the products of Microsoft, partners, and competitors and enthusiastically following industry news and social media.


Qualifications: 3+ years of eCommerce, gaming, platform or publishing experience required. (5+ preferred) Advanced ability to use excel or other tools to perform data analysis and business modeling. Ideally comfortable using DAX or possessing at demonstrated aptitude for working with relational databases. Solid relationship and communication skills for working with senior managers and Microsoft-wide groups and strong executive presence and business maturity for partner-facing presentation. Experience in some facet of the gaming industry or ability to exhibit a deep understanding of the gaming industry from personal experience. Ability to drive results within a matrixed environment via cross group collaboration. P&L revenue management experience. Ability to use PowerPoint to tell a succinct business story based on data analysis. Ability to effectively develop key procedures that facilitate efficient planning, reporting and control processes.
