Requisition ID: 217758Position Title: Sr Field Engineer, Welding, WTCCProject: Waste Treatment Completion Company (WTCC)Location: [[location]] Relocation Authorized: National - Family Other Requirements: Pre-employment drug screen, background check and physical Bechtel is designing, constructing and commissioning the world??s largest radioactive waste treatment plant for the U.S. Department of Energy at the Hanford Site in southeastern Washington state. The Hanford Tank Waste Treatment and Immobilization Plant will use vitrification technology to process and solidify 56 million gallons (210 million liters) of radioactive and chemical waste stored at the Hanford site, which is a byproduct of plutonium production during World War II and the Cold War era. The project is the largest undertaking of its kind and one of DOE??s most technically challenging cleanup projects. Its construction spans 65 acres (26 hectares) with four major nuclear facilities - Pretreatment, Low-Activity Waste Vitrification, High-Level Waste Vitrification and Analytical Laboratory - as well as operations and maintenance buildings, utilities, other support facilities. The Waste Treatment Completion Company (WTCC) is a limited liability corporation created by Bechtel National Inc. (BNI) and AECOM. WTCC is a subcontractor to BNI, the prime contractor, to deliver the construction, turnover, startup, and commissioning activities for the WTP project. This position is located at the Construction Site (22 miles north of Richland) and works a 4 x 10 schedule, M-Th, 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. (day shift) or 5:30 p.m. to 4:00 a.m. (night shift). Selected applicant needs to be able and willing to work overtime and weekends as needed. Role OverviewInterface with Corporate welding group to maintain the Welding Control Manual for the project, including Welding Procedure Specifications (WPSs), Procedure Qualification Records (PQRs), and General Welding Standards (GWSs) in accordance with applicable Engineering Specifications and welding codes such as ASME B31.3, ASME Section IX, AWS D1.1, AWS D1.4, and AWS D1.6. Coordinate the review of Welding Control Manual documents with required reviewers including QC and Engineering.Work with PDC to issue Welding Control Manual documents for the WTP project.Review vendor welding drawings and details in accordance with applicable engineering specifications and welding codesReview subcontractor submittals related to welding in accordance with applicable engineering specifications and welding codesRepresent construction on technical welding problems and interface with Engineering to resolve these issues.Evaluate welding related items for Condition Reports (CRs), and nonconformance??s (CDRs and NCRs). Basic QualificationsBachelor Degree in Construction, Welding, or a related discipline from an accredited university and 6 years of experience as a welding/NDE engineer, welding inspector, quality control inspector, or quality assurance inspector. In lieu of a degree, 12 years of experience as a welding/NDE engineer, welding inspector, quality control inspector, or quality assurance inspector. Minimum QualificationsNDE experience with piping and structural welds for compliance with procedures, drawings, specifications, and codes (e.g. ASME B31.3, ASME Section V, ASME Section VIII, AWS D1.1).Must be able to complete and pass a pre-employment physical, drug screen, and background check which includes verification of employment and education.
